We are gradually seeing people shifting gradually from the use of traditional banks too much more decentralized ecosystem. I do not think banks are going to be completely replaced but then their number are going to reduce drastically in the future.

I think banks will still remain relevant for now given that fiat currency is still the major legal tender in circulation, but the emergence of cryptocurrency may supersede it if the masses start to embrace it fully

I think traditional banks are here to stay, for the most part, at least in the US. We also have credit unions, which I prefer to deal with over banks if anything. They are safer imo.
