Until recently, selling websites was one of my primary sources of income. I sold one website per month on average for the average price of $300. Most of the websites I sold were niche blogs but I have also sold forum and online store as well. I would create a website, build some traffic generate some revenue through Adsense and then put the site on sale on Flippa. Just by paying $15 for basic listing, my site would be on sale on Flippa as long as it wasn't sold or as long as I didn't take it down. But they changed the rules. They started charging $29 basic listing and had to renew the listing every 90 days by paying additional amount. For unsold websites, that was a huge financial loss. Therefore, I stopped using Flippa. When I stopped using Flippa, selling websites became difficult. I tried to sell through Webmaster forums but in the last couple of years I have managed to sell just one website through webmaster forums.

I've never sold any of my websites. I have thought about selling a few though lately, though I will need to calculate the right price to list the sites that I want to sell. If and when I decide on which websites I want to sell I will make threads in the appropriate section of course.
In my experience, the right price is the one that someone offers for your website. We work hard on our website and we might have high expectations for our website. Buyers do not see any value in it. They will only judge traffic, revenue and content.
