It's not even feasible for a startup business to make instant profit, your Business has to grow and gain some strength before you can think of profit, that's why most start ups fail within the first year of establishment.

Money is not the only motivating factor when starting a business. Not only extrinsic factors stimulate people to go into business. Some are highly motivated intrinsically and when your motivation comes from within then money can't be said to be your priority for setting up a business. It might be to add value to lives.
