Do you let members delete their own accounts?

Have given them permission to delete their own accounts from my website. I feel each individual has the right to manage their own account. If they feel it is unnecessary, then they can delete their account. It's good to let go of persons who aren't interested in your forum anymore. They would just use resources without contributing anything useful to the community.
Agree because If a person is working on a website and he is tired of that work and he wants me to take over from this then he should have permission for that to delete the account get satisfaction of mind because we don't know why he is trying to do this.

Do you let members delete their own accounts through the profile settings page, or have you got a process in place for data removal? I've got a process in place and that's by using the Contact Us Form or sending me a private message if a user wishes to have their profile removed. What about you, how do you handle it?
I believe people ought to be permitted to deactivate their account if they so choose because they visited this site voluntarily and so, they should be permitted to terminate their account if they wish to depart.

I think users should be allowed to deactivate their own accounts. They registered on the platform at their own will so in the same vein, they should be permitted to delete their account if they want to leave

I don't think it's polite to store members' data/profiles, some people may need to do so, but there is always a process in case a user wants to delete their profile

I think that you have made a good point. Allowing members to delete the account themselves would allow them to desert the forum when the conditions might not be good.
i think people should be at liberty to do what they want to do with there account on your forum, it was there choice to join your forum and it also should be there choice to leave when they want to as well.

I think they should it wouldn't make a bug difference but every memeber has the right to delete account if they wanted to maybe for privacy reasons and things like that maybe they could message admin to ask to delete their account

I think it is best to allow members to delete accounts on their own accord because in the same way they decided to participate in the platform per their own volition, they should also be permitted to leave as they wish

I think I'll allow members delete their accounts if they're willing to go that route. Though reason for that will be specified too as I'll give provision for that as well.

I really do not know why would a person want to get his account deleted in the first place on a money making site. A person may change his mind and come back at any time.

Well one can't specifically point out a reason why too but maybe they wouldn't want to allow someone else have it or for any other personal reason. That way, I wouldn't hinder anyone who chooses to leave.

I don't own a website for now. When i eventually do, i would allow users to delete their accounts if they want to do so. Some couple of sites i've been on do not allow users to delete their accounts and i don't like that.

Every single contacts that you have posted on the website is your own and you are free to do whatever you want to do with it. If they feel that they will want to delete the contents then that is particularly okay.

I do not allow members deleting their own account, deleting accounts is strictly prohibited especially when the member has received incentives for posting on the site. If the member has not received any incentive and wants to delete account, he can send an email.

Due to the fact that I don't have any forum at the moment, but I don't think it's a good idea to give members option to delete their account themselves, but rather contacting administrators to get their account removed.

One thing that I never allow on a forum that I run is allowing members to delete their accounts. We state in the forum that I currently co-own that once you register to the forum it is final so that they know before they register that they can not delete their account afterward. We do this mainly to protect ourselves from trolls and abuse. If we allowed members to create accounts and delete them, we would have a lot of issues where people would come on, register, spam, or cause trouble and then delete their accounts. Not allowing them to do that means if they do cause any kind of trouble, we have a way of tracking them if they ever try to evade a ban or suspension.

I don't think that a member would want to get his account deleted. Why would anyone want to do that? If a person wants to not work on a website, then they could simply leave without getting their accounts deleted.
