Do badges and trophies encourage you to post more on a forum?

I love them. I notice I got one of those little pink hearts today and it made me feel all warm inside! I asked this question somewhere else but most people said it makes no difference. I guess I'm just a big softie

I will rather be straight on the topic. Why am I posting on this forum or other similar forum? Yeah! That's correct, I earn from posting. I do not care what badges and trophies I get on these forums, I care about how much I can earn by working for a certain hour.

If badges or trophies mark you as good poster then it seems interesting to earn more badges and trophies to have more toleration from moderation team than newbies members so it seems interesting.

I think it has more to do with activity and the number of posts you do. I notice that other people here with the hearts have a high number of posts. I think I got mine when I reached around 130 or more.

I support the topic you posted, trophies and badges are motivating to come daily, when you win some recognition gives you the satisfaction that you do things well. Also motivates me to learn and interact with other members and of course the profits that can generate.

Yes, it serves as a big encouragement. I remember when I first got some trophies here in bizdustry, I was super excited and it made me want to post more so I can get more.

The major reason why I post more on the forum is because I want to earn more. I don't look at the trophies and badges because I don't get monetary value from them.

I think that it can be a very encouraging Factor however at the same time I think that people will generally respond more to monetary rewards such as an increase in their payment platform or perhaps a $1 award. Generally I think that people will respond a lot better to these sort of rewards because it is something that they are actually able to use.

The reward can be increased depend of your reward so for example if you have such trophy the reward will increase by 5 % like for example if you get 0,02 $ you will get 0,021 $ this can be a good effect for users having more than 1000 posts and if you reach 5000 posts and get such trophy reward will bet 0,022 $ instead of 0,021 $ this could be a good reward encouraging idea.

It creates a good and great feeling inside the heart if I receive awards and trophies.

Athletes in the Olympics were rewarded by gold, silver and bronze medals when they win in competition.

The very question that I'm going to ask is what are the importance of those badges for me to begin with when posting on a forum or any website if it doesn't add anything financially to my account I don't really take it very seriously.

You have a point. It's not the badges or trophies that you are after.

The reason for your posting in forum is to earn more money.

I think if those trophies and badges have monetary equivalent then many will seek for it.

There are some forums that set a certain numbers of badges and trophies for earning higher ranks and increase the chance of the earning more. This motivate junior to post more so they attain higher position for income.

This is exactly what I was thinking as well because I believe that even in minor increase in the reward structure such as this will provide people with ample incentive in order to be able to take their writing skills to the next level. For example I am especially happy with the new competition system that is being hosted on this platform because it will promote people to have better responses whilst at the same time we also help them to improve their writing skills and the forum as well.

I dont think badges or title can influence my decision to post on a forum. The goal of working on the forum is to make some good amount of money for myself and not to start looking for any badge

Ya,it might not interest you because there's no value attached to it. There are big forums like Bitcoin talk where you get to earn bounties by having a high level badge. I don't see anything wrong with it.
