Have you ever thought about using Discourse for a community? Or perhaps you've joined a community that was powered by this software? I want to try it out, but I'd have to invest in a VPS to get things up and running since it won't work on shared hosting. It's also a bit of a challenge to get the software installed, and as someone who never messed around with Linux much I would probably run into issues installing the software. They do offer hosting, but it isn't cheap. Apparently the official Unity community uses the software, which their default theme looks fantastic and much better than the odd looking default Discourse theme. You can learn more about the platform here if you're curious.
