Do any of you practice copywriting in your marketing tactics?

For some who don't know, copywriting is different than the common-looking word copyright.

Copywriting also called copy is when you integrate "sales speak" into your marketing language.

A great example of copy is the PAS Formula

P for Problem
A for Agitation
S for Solution

And example of the PAS formula in copy:

Getting new forum members seems impossible, doesn't it? (Problem portion)
Forums seem dead! There is too much competition! No one wants to leave social media. (Agitate portion)
But what if I were to tell you an easy way to get members? And what if I were to tell you that it's 100% free? Click Here to learn how to do this in just a few minutes (Solution portion)

That is an example of the PAS copy formula. You present a problem and agitate the viewer to create an emotional response and then you give them a solution which is your CTA (call to action).

PAS is only one formula of many in copy.

I always find it amusing how often we come back to variants of the three-act story - introduction, tension, resolution. Good explanation, though, and absolutely you can craft articles this way very easily to elicit a reaction.
