This question is geared towards those who own or run their own forum. What do you do with the users who are banned? Do they have anything special added to them?

I personally would rather use "Banned" as the custom rank or title, over anything else. I have seen some owners of forums that do not do anything special for their banned users.

I think that's too harsh, and would discourage new members of they see a lot of these.

One thing that I've seen which I like is to change the Username to nobody. Seems simple enough.

Banned members? The first question to ask is what are the offences they have committed for them to have been banned? How many times have they been warned and corrected before applying the sanction banned? After they are banned, what other things has been done to know if the banned member is sobber about his or her actions for him to be absorbed back in the group.

Banned accounts depend on the level of violation, temporarily or forever, usually double accounts in one IP address, cannot prove KYC. while the temporary punishment can be monthly (such as plagiarism violations, off topic etc), for example three times plagiarism is banned for a month, and the ban ends, but if during the banned period there is plagiarism then the banned penalty can be 2 months and so on. (banned account cannot do activities except login),

Regardless of the reason that put them there, my question did not get answered with your reply. :)

With the new reduction of biznotes per comment with regard to the new policy, I want to believe that banning members will not be the best thing. It's going to discourage the new members of the platform. I will suggest you consider another mode of punishment for those who violate the rules. Bizdustry need members.

Not on subject. Did you read the question? I mean, did you actually read the question?

I quote:

Did you know this question is supposed to be related to other forums that you may be staff on, or maybe the owner of?

When I finally have my own forum I will definitely tag a group of users known as bannned so that whenever I want to unban a member I can easily go there and unban them.

I think the word "banned" below their username would be appropriate. You should not be afraid to ban members who frequently violate the rules.

I remember being banned from a gaming app I loved so much because of a mistake I did though, I added another phone number but I would have felt less betrayed if I was responded to after I pleaded. Site owners should consider loosening their grip on banned users.

I don't like the idea of using "banned" as the custom rank or title for banned users. I feel it's too harsh. I woul rather use "defaulters" as the title for banned users on my forum.
