Many admin forums invite users to post their forum stats. (I'm sure Admin Junkies has one too). It's one of the easiest threads to update, and many forum owners do like sharing their stats, which usually increase over time.
But what do those stats mean?
What does it mean to have 10 new users in the last year? Is that good? Is that bad? What is your comparison?
i would argue that if you're a public forum in a popular lifestyle or social niche, 10 new users over an entire year is not very good. Ok the other hand, 10 new users in a highly specialized forum where each of those 10 new users are paying you $1000 for membership access is great. It's all relative, and you need something to compare your stats.
Are you comparing your growth to prior periods? Are you comparing your growth to an external benchmark? How do you define what a good or bad forum stat is?
