Are there any difference between sales and marketing department of a company?

Yes there is a huge difference between sales and marketing department. In a company the marketing department job is to make people to be aware of what the company is offering to buyers or tell buyers about the product the company is producing and to convince them to buy. Now for sales department they don't have to do much all they have to do is attend to buyers by sellinv the product the marketing department have convince them to buy when they come to the company

Use this analogy of a musical theater to understand better. Sales people are the performers in a Broadway theater whereas marketing folks are the set of designers, producers and choreographers. On the surface, the two may present a " selling vs marketing"schema. Marketing puts the show together without a nod of the head or clap of the hand. Sales then take the reins and earn the applause.

It really depends on the company and how they operate there's no much difference between sales and marketing department. Sale department is the department that in charge of selling product for customers in a company.

The term, sales , refers to all activities that lead to the selling of goods and services. And marketing is the process of getting people interested in the goods and services being sold.sale is a term used to describe the activities that lead to the selling of goods or services

If a sales department gets to b in charge of a marketing job then that will be loads of work. Marketing encompasses many things. Some companies might decided to merge them with sales but if job is to be done effectively, then their duties should be separated. Sales department should work on how to get goods to the customers and bring returns back to the company while marketing department focus on how to reach those customers in order to increase sales

Sale department is responsible for sales staregies, its main objective is to bring productivity and effectiveness in business through profitable sales.while marketing department mains objective is to promote the products and services and ro identify and target the areas where to advertise the business

Sales and Marketing department are two different departments in an organisation. Sales department are in charge of all he activities that leads to the selling of goods and services.

To me I think there is different between sales department and marketing department depending on the size and nature of the the business the organisation carried out. Marketing department is the department that creates awareness of the company products to the potential buyers and marketing is complete when the goods are eventually purchased by the buyer's. On the other hand sales department is the department that strictly deals with the sales of the products.

Sales and Marketing are two business capacities inside a company - the two of them sway lead age and income. The term, sales, alludes to all exercises that lead to the selling of products and ventures. Furthermore, Marketing is the way toward getting individuals inspired by the products and enterprises being sold.

For any organisation to be highly successful, these two departments need to work effectively together, though their works differ. Marketing is in charge of getting interested people while sales department is just in charge of selling those products and services being marketed by the marketers.

I don't think there is really big difference between the sales and marketing department of an organisation in fact I think they are the same thing but for big companies I think the marketingsales after the marketing has taken place

Yes, there is a difference between the two. The marketing department of a company is not really involved in making sales. They go about reaching out to the public, advertising the product and convincing people on why they should patronize the company while the sales department is fully involved in making more of sales.

I think they are somehow the same, sales refers to all activities that lead to the selling of goods and services. And marketing is the process of getting people interested in the goods and services being sold. ... Marketing departments are responsible for running campaigns to attract people to the business' brand, product, or services

Sales and marketing department are of similar duties but different department. Marketing department concentrates on promotion of the products that is making it known while sales department handles the selling of the products to end users who are the buyers of the product.

Sales and marketing department roles looks almost the same but there are few differences.
A sales department deals with all the activities that lead to the selling of goods and services.
A marketing department deals with strategies that attract people to the business brand, goods and services.

Depends on the size of the organization. Both teams are expected to work hand in hand. Some companies merge the two department together. They work hand in hand to ensure successful sales of the company's products.

Here according to your explanation one boost sales while the other improves sales of the company. To me this two are correlated and works hand in hand.
Sales department and marketing department should be merged as one because when there is no marketing there won't be any sales.
