You are right. In a capitalist system, there is much emphasis on profit making rather than humanity. Wealth is always concentrated in the hands of some few individuals who are called bourgeois at the expense of the proletariat.

Here's something to think about: If my family were hard up for cash and I needed to make some money, I would invest in a license to be a street vendor and sell bottled water out on the city streets and make a huge profit. A 30 pack of water is under $3 but each bottle could be sold for $2 each in the city! In the summer there are tourists galore and the vendors run out of water fast. That's capitalism!

But will that make them rich? No. But here's the other thing to think about, it's not just making money for the vendor but providing something that is in need when the tourists are out sightseeing. In a way, it's helping others.

This is one critical flaw of capitalism. Some countries try to balance this distribution of wealth through imposing higher taxes on the richer individuals. It hardly works though.
