Would you give up on a website completely or would you plan to make it online again in the future(based on your interests and time)?

This can be a critical decision at times. So, if you are a website owner and if your website is not getting enough traffic, do you still cling on to it? Is that really a bad idea to continue supporting it?

Also, if you believe that it's hopeless( at the end ) and if you don't have the time, will you give up on it completely? Or would you take a backup and bring it back online sometime in the near future? Of course it depends on your time and resource availability.

So, how do you deal with the situation?

it actually depends on what i am working on in the website, if it is a niche i really like i would definitely work on the site but if it is not a niche i love i would not come back to work on the site again.

I can't probably give up on a website because it's not getting enough traffic, the only question to ask is if I've done all the necessary things i should do to get traffic on the website

I already know that some site do pay online, but in a situation where by I invest my time, money knowledge all that takes for investment and worked in a site and at the end I didn't gain any thing, quiting is the best solution for me?

some times it is not quitting, you might have given your all to that project but was it done correctly? that is a question you should also ask yourself as you can be vigorously doing the right thing in error.

I abaddon my former format website when I see that there's little potential of getting money from it. I will create new one soon. I have plan everything and I believe that it will work.

It largely depends on the project I'm working on at the moment.
I'll work on the website if it's a niche I really enjoy, but if it's not, I won't be returning to do any further work on it.

Niche website is actually the best in terms income generation. I once owned a website but I abaddon it when I noticed that the possibility of making money with it is low. But very soon, I will begin work on my niche website.

Well, I think that this could be somewhat quite tricky. I think that it all depends on how much efforts you put into your website and you could make the website a better place. It all depends on your online reputation as well.

Well, there are about 10 members give or take, who would usually visit my website. However, they don't post regularly and sometimes they don't post anything at all for weeks! Still, they visit the website everyday.

So, I don't want to take down the website as some of the old members pop out now and then and it's the only place that connects us all. It represents my childhood and I don't want to part with the website and those members, if given a chance.

I wish I could revive the website but I don't have enough time or money at the moment, to take the necessary steps.

So, I would really appreciate some tips here.

Well, if this is the case, then I think that you should focus on creating more content. What kind of website do you own? if it is a blog, then you could create content and get the assistance of some kind of SEO experts who could help you to gain traffic. Having 10 unique visitors is just like having no visitors. You need at least some amount of unique visitors and a great website in order to apply for adsense.

When I see there is minimal chance of making money from my old website format, I abandon it. Soon I'll make a new one. I have everything planned out, and I think it will work.

It's an anime forum. I have created it couple of years back for fun. Ideally I should abandon it now, but as it's part of my childhood and all... I just can't let go of it. I really wish I could somehow revive it.

There are people who visit it daily and people who visit it from time to time. The main issue I have identified is, users don't post threads all that much. If the staff posts interesting topics, only then they would post replies.

I have tried several ways to make them post topics to no avail. So, is there anything I could do at this point? I can't really spend too much money at the moment, as I am jobless. However I am willing to put in extra effort to compensate that.

find an alternative means of compensation that does not have to do with money or anything like that for the time being, you can focus on giving colored names and some other features as well.

I've not been in this kind of situation before. I guess if my website isn't having much traffic anymore, i would cling to it and look for ways to bring about traffic to the site. I would not give up on it easily.

Actually entrepreneurs are not advisable to always give up on there business no matter bad the business is going. you have to tried your best or even find better solutions to the problem like to eithet merge with another site.

Well if after strategizing more than once and there's no positive impact, I will have to shelf that idea for the time being or better still sell off the forum to someone that's interested.

I have given up on a couple of websites. I created websites with high hope but I failed to develop traffic and even get approved by adsense. renewing domain was costing me financially, therefore, I decided to save website content and let the domain expire.

After a period of time if website is not getting enough visitors then you start presenting it on forums or buy some advertisement or introduce in microjobs websites to increase interaction and audience and not by stupid action delete 1 year old website as this could be resolved by paid advertisements.
