Would you always side with a staff member whenever there is a dispute?

I wouldn't do that all the time. I do try to analyze the situation first and only then I will try to do what needs to be done. However, sometimes it can be a bit tricky when the staff member is at fault.

I have observed a situation where a normal user was demanding her right to privacy when a staff member used her account to post something and all the staff members were siding with him(staff) saying that it wasn't a big deal.

I don't like such messy situations and staff shouldn't take advantage of their privileges. What do you think?

Sometimes such kind of subjects are prohibited from a forum then users for example in some forums it is restricted to talk about cryptocurrencies, while for others it is restricted to talk about NFT, while for others it is restricted to talk about payment system.
But members doesn't like their posts edited anyway.

Yes, you're right. We should never side with a staff member during a dispute or an argument without knowing about the whole situation. Moreover, every staff member must respect other's privacy.

I do not believe that this is the right thing to do because I am first of all going to ensure that I have established all the facts and then ensure that I am on the right side but I am always going to put them first.

Thank you but not everyone feels that privacy is important these days and I don't get that concept completely. Sure, we don't have much to hide but I don't want strangers to know, so much about me either.

The moment I ask people to give me privacy, then I would face questions like ' what exactly are you hiding or are you doing something you are not supposed to'. Usually I would just hand over them my phone and ask them to flip various apps to their heart's content but inside, I get irritated and annoyed by them.

In fact, even my relatives would ask the same thing. Is it hard to give privacy to your loved ones? I am sure they wouldn't do anything bad and if they are under-age you will have to monitor them but apart from that, you really shouldn't monitor even your loved ones continuously. You should have trust in them. That's how I feel anyway.

A forum may occasionally forbid users from discussing certain topics. For instance, some forums forbid discussion of cryptocurrencies, while others forbid discussion of NFT, and still others forbid discussion of payment systems.

I wouldn't always side with a staff member when there is a dispute. This is because the staff member might be at fault so i would analyze the situation at first.

Actually that will be a bad idea and the most terrifying mistake you will ever made in your book simply because it will makes othet staff to start murmuring about how you handle issues and lack of respect.

Depends on who I'm having the dispute with. If it's something that requires our interest to be protected, I'll tilt slightly towards my staff but reprimand the individual in private to not let such issues occur again.

I do not think that it would be fair to side with the staff member. If an ordinary member is right, then I would consider his opinion over the opinion of a staff member.

That's true but you also have to weigh the resultant effects too as well. If siding with a member will affect the image of the forum, it'll be better to sack that staff because keeping him/her might still be damaging.

I take sides with the person who is correct. I don't side with anyone just because he or she is my staff. I always try to settle my dispute peacefully and I always try to give my unbiased view on the situation.
