Some tutoring sites require your edu certificate and also some clients in the freelancing industry needs your edu cert to offer you long time gig. But that doesn't mean its a priority here online in order to earn. Their are other high paying gigs that doesn't need your edu cert, just your level of experience.

I have been working online for more than 5 years and I don't see any changes in the progress of the freelancing jobs. If I am earning $1 per day today then I don't think I can earn double of that doing the same work 2 years from now. Freelancers earns peanuts but we are here for our own reasons.
