When did you use vBulletin last?

What made you stop using it?

Never ran a community on it as it was far out of my price range but loved using it as a forum. PbNation is currently the only forum I even look at that still runs vB as far as I know. It also really shows its age.

Christianity Haven used to be on vBulletin, but it needed to be upgraded (according to our host) and the owner felt it was time to move onto XenForo. I miss the look and feel of vBulletin though because it had more warmth to it than XenForo. XenForo is great for businesses and looks professional. Yet, somewhat sterile no matter how you design it.

It was the first paid software I used.

I used ver 4 and under. I left at version 4 as it got worse IMO. I enjoyed 3.8 and 3.7.

From what i read alot of new modern functions, we are still using V5. First see if the community will be a success !

vBulletin Messenger looks really interesting!

6 looks decent and they offer cloud packages as low as $15 a month, which might be one of the best ways to just "jump in" and get a forum going for a new admin. Although I do wish they would update the look and feel a bit since it still feels like the same forum from two decades ago.

I was a user of many vBulletin forums. I always used free software before finally making the switch to paid and it was vB. I've tried most of the paid options back when forums were more active.

How many addons were on the site before you did the upgrade?

Most of the big VB forums I knew of could never upgrade because of addon amounts. Most had to do their own security updates after EOL versions.
