One of the main reasons people pursue wealth is to gain status and importance. But that begs the question: what status in life do you want? Politician? World Leader? Boyfriend? Girlfriend? Spouse? Billionaire? Do you use money as a measurement of status?
What symbols of that status do you collect to reinforce the status that you want?
As for me, I want the status of Poet, which is a respected status. It includes the power to speak and to be heard. In my mind, it carries some dignity and strength. At the end of the day, I just want to be myself.
