What skills should a manager have?

good communication is one of the most important attributes of any business manager. Employees also need to be very much effective when it comes to communication around the business environment.
A good communication skill is a must for a good manager. It is one of the things to consider first before selecting someone to head a company because you will need to communicate with the members more effectively.

Self discipline. This is one of the most important things that should be happening in the business environment. When you do not have it, if would be difficult to be an exemplary leader .
 
The undesirable condition is not always every time, obviously there will always be a time in which challenges will come into the business. That won't really be a problem as long as it is not all the time. I know in some business managers have a lot of serious work to do.

Well, what I actually meant by undesirable conditions was certain kind of conditions like bad behaviour of customers who usually misbehave with the staff or employees of the company. You usually encounter such kind of customers.
 
It is true that organisational skill is mostly needed so that you could put things in order in the cause of running the business. If you do not have this attribute, it will be very difficult for you to lead people.
Most of these skill is not something you are born with , is something that you can also learn if you are willing to lead and manage a large business organisation . I know some people are naturally born with them too
 
Managers should be able to conduct themselves in the best working manners all the time. This is important, especially to enable them serve as good examples to their subordinates.

In business that involve selling of goods and services for customers , it is not a direct responsibility of the managers to handle bad behaviour exhibited by clients. It is the employees that must be cultured and know how to deal with their customers effectively.
 
A good manager must have a good planning structure, must be a good leader with excellent decision making skills, must be a good problem solver and must have a good interpersonal skills.

As a business owner you must be willing to solve your client problem. This is what will differentiate you from other competitors who are dealing in the same business with you. Management skill is very important , obviously that is what you will use in running and organising your business.
 
A good manager should have these features:

1) Knowledge about the industry the company is in

2) Ability to make pretty accurate predictions about the future of the industry

3) Ability to argue and make good agreements

4) Great communication skills

5) humbleness to give respect to people deserving of it, whether they are below you or not

6) understand their past mistakes and the ability to solve them

Yes. That's very important. Some people are not always willing to pass through the normal training , they are just trying to get the necessary training and abandoned the root of the whole thing. I believe this will still affects you. you have to learn everything concerning any area you have chosen to make money from.

As a manger one skill you should have is to know how-to sell, except your company isn't into sales. Another important skill a manager should have is the ability to market( marketing skills), even if it isn't intense, but an idea on marketing is important, then most of all a manager should have a leadership skill, this is the most important skill a manager should have.

When you have a good knowledge around anything that you choose. You will be at an advantage because you'll be able to maneuver. but if you are half baked in the particular niche, it will be difficult for you to play around it.

In situations like that I can understand . The manager is trying to calm down the client. But this should not be expected most of the time but only when the manager was there to encounter the issues. Lower employee should know their responsibilities and handle it perfectly
