An investment and business all involve taking risk. Because you run your business doesn’t mean something can’t go wrong and you have to close down. Putting your money in an investment platform involves lot of risk meaning you are giving a lot in hope for future reward. In business you are also starting something with Capital which is MONEY in return for something big as things begin to go smooth.

The aspect where you said that the business and investment all involved taking with it actually very spot on as the similarity between them actually deal with the fact that both of them takes weeks and most of them involved profit-taking although it may have a different name when it comes to investment loan and investment returns but they are all profit.

But investment is mostly a long term thing you can not invest today and start making profit instantly unlike business where you stat today and get profit same day from your selling.

I agree with you that investment and business have similarities. The target goal of investment and business is making money. But one can have an investment in real estate or bank but not necessarily invest in a business. The similarities is in the end goals of investment and business which is financial profit.

Well I think the major difference between investment and a business is the level of involvement of the individual. Truth is one person's business might be an investment to another person who isn't involved in the day to day or constant running of the business.
