Investment and business in most cases looks similar since they both involve risk and finance. But most at times the returns you always get from investment is always lower than the returns you can get from a successful business especially if the investment is less risky.

I will say the only reason one can confuse the two to mean one and the same is that. they both include commuting funds to a venture and expect some profits in n the later time but they are not actually the same.
