What is the difference between domain endings?

com is the original domain extension. However, there are hundreds of domain extensions, some are popular like net and org, and some are strange like pizza and diamond. For search engines extension does not matter much

Domain extensions were created to represent certain things, for example com for commercial website, org for organizations, net for internet related things, etc. However, the significance for representing certain things is already lot.

There are no much difference between domain extensions practically but some people may tell you that the .com domain extension is mostly for commercial purpose why the .org domain extension is mostly for organisational use and also the .co is also for company use but as far as I am concerned they have no difference because you can still use.com extension for all these purposes.

COM in the .com domain name represents commercial domain names. This includes all business websites, websites that want to make money online, personal websites, blogs, portfolios, and almost anything in between. On the other hand, the NET in the . net domain name extension represents “network”.

I also believe there is no big difference between the domain endings, you can use any domain for any purpose, no one is going to stop you. Search engines will also not discriminate you for using certain domains
