Nowadays so much has changed with extenitions, can have anything you want even it was pointless and weird. So we gotta have them as it's part of the URL and easy for google and web browsers to read links to sites and forwards to things.

Each domain endings has their own functions or less say indications like for instance Com and Net are two of the most popular domain name extensions. If your preferred .com domain name extension is not available, then you might be tempted to use a .net instead.

However, .net isn’t a good option for your business in most cases.
