So in summary, an individual can be described as a sole proprietor in a one man's business. Can the same be said of larger corporations or partnerships?

I think the term "individual" depends on the context. We can say that the customer is an individual in our business or employee is an individual in the business. However, we can say that it mostly applies to the business which is owned by a single person or individually-based business.
