An individual is a person whether in business or out of it. Now, an individual who puts up his own business with him as a single owner is a sole or single proprietor. An individual may also decide to form a partnership with another individual and register such a partnership as a business. And yes, an individual can also set up a one-person corporation (OPC). There are distinct differences between a sole proprietorship business and a one-person corporation with most of them having something to do with the extent of liability to the debts, losses, and liabilities of the business.
