The relationship between boss and employee is contractual. What brings them together is the job contract that they have. So, a boss should be respected like every other human being. After all, your boss is only paying you for the work that you rendered.

I reckon that if you are obeying all the rules and regulations of the company, then you will eventually gain the respect of your boss because this is something that your boss will notice.
