SMF is the only software I know that has a guide for creating SMF themes or for that matter themes in any software! Anyway, I thought it would be cool to create a theme, considering that you can make a lot of cash maybe, because people might get into some style of dumping paid software and it's large costs and only opt for smaller costs involving premium themes and mods.

Huh I guess I never seen this before. I had no clue they offered a guide on how to make your own theme for the software. Thank you for sharing this, it could come in handy if I ever attempt to make a theme for SMF.

I once had a forum running on SMF and it is one of the best open source platforms. Thanks for sharing link. I might check this out and try my hands on creating themes.

I used SMF once very very briefly. I thought it was as good as anything at the time. This was circa 2005ish I think. Still looks like decent software.

Others have a guide to making a theme or atleast the basics as well. phpBB comes to mind.

It should be noted that the guide linked is for 2.0 as well, although it can certainly be applied to 2.1.
