I do remember sixpop, hosted a lot of messages. When it went down also broke a lot of InvisionFree skins, lol. Funny to see it kinda back though.

If you don't own where the images are uploaded, you're at their mercy if pricing changes or the service goes under. Just remember Photobucket's self-immolation a few years ago.

(NB: I am not counting the likes of using S3 or CloudFlare R2 as 'not owning', those services have other uses and their prices remain much more stable as a result.)
