Paying freelancers?

Most people that I have met online do not specialize in Graphic Design, so they will seek other means to getting their Graphics. Whether they are paying someone through a gig platform like Fiverr, or simply posting a advertisement on a webmaster forum looking for a Graphic Designer. Do you pay freelancers, and how do you ensure you are not scammed? Do you ask to see the work before payment?

I've paid for forum posters before for my old forum. I only got ripped off once but it got sorted.

I have paid freelancers in the past online for graphic work. My logo and the avatar that I use here at Forum Explorers are one that I paid for using a graphics designer who does their work as a freelancer, I also had emotes created by the same person so that they matched my logo

I always like to see the work before I pay but I am also someone who makes sure I pay those I hire for graphics work.

On freelancing platform, you release payment only after the work is delivered, so there is a slim chance that you will be scammed on freelancing site. I cannot sate same thing about webmaster forums.

The best thing is for you too make use of platforms where the have escrow payment system because that is what guarantees that you are not going to be scammed after paying for any work to be carried out for you. If it is not up to the standard of what you requested, you are not going to be forced to pay for it. Your money is going to be refunded to your account.
