Here's a web design trend that interested me as of late, parallax scrolling. For those who don't know, parallax scrolling involves the background moving at a slower rate to the foreground. I think it not only looks great, but adds a little depth to websites.

Do you use parallax? What do you think of it?

I think they look great if the site really needs that type of effect. If I had a site where I didn't really care that much about SEO, then I would use one if I needed to. I like my site to look great, but I also want it to rank.

How does parallax negatively affect SEO?

I just recently read an article on this and it explained a lot as far as SEO and parallax. I'll post a link to the article below if you're interested. One of the main negatives is that there are fewer pages. You are using longer pages for keywords and your topics. Search engines get confused with it and just rank a page and not fragments of a page. This might change in the future, but it is something to be aware of.
