It is advisable to get trade mark registration for your business to prevent others from using your business name for their benefit. Has anyone faced any challenges with your competitors using names similar to your business name?

If you have a big business or if your business is small and you aim to make it big some day, it is very necessary to register your trade mark, logo, business name, etc.

In my country, you cannot do any serious business with anyone if to your business is not trademarked and your business name and logo registered. People would find it easy to trust you because they feel like you have something at stake.

I will say that it is only going to be advisable for you to get a trademark registration for your business depending on how big your business is which you will need something that will help to boost its popularity and legitimacy in the public.

If you are a new business who is just starting up then you are not going to be bothering so much about it because you are going to spend a sizable amount of money that you should have used to develop your business. If your business is beginning to grow then by all means you should have it.

Getting your trademarks registered is a great thing and it helps you avoid legal problems. However, I have seen many businesses using the trademarks of many other businesses. For example, I have seen a fries stall using the symbol of McDonald's just to market its business! However, the quality of fries was nowhere near to that of McDonald's!

The stage of your business is what is going to determine what should be necessary to be carried out in the business at that particular point in time because if it is still a new business that have not expanded to require a trademark, there is no point in going to process such kind of registration.
