MyBB vs Paid Software

Do you feel it's a good choice while dumping paid options? Well, I have heard tell of people going from paid to free before. Possibly the reason being either paid isn't as good or they didn't like the upgrade fees.

Currently, I have a forum running in MyBB. I find MyBB as good as the paid software. One of the major drawbacks of using open source software is that it is difficult to find plugins that are actively maintained by the developers.
