Is there any difference between marketing and selling?

Marketing are selling are not same and would never be same, they are two different things entirely. Marketing makes people to know about your products and how it works, what it does while selling on the other hand is when you eventually sells the products to people and they buy from you, so marketing and selling are two different things entirely.

Marketing is the process of advising and promoting your goods and services while selling is there exchange of goods and services for money. For example if you give out five tubers of yam out in exchange for $1, you just made a sale but not a marketing.

Marketing is the key to the door of sales. Therefore, marketing is the process of creating awareness and setting out your prospective markets. Also marketing involves reaching out to wide range of people in order to get them to buy your goods or services

People say marketing and selling are one and the same, I would love to get different opinions and some clearance on this topic please.
Selling is actually a concept in marketing. Marketing involves the activities that relate to decisions about how to advertise a product, the branding, quality, the price as well as the consumers of the product. Selling is at the final end of the equilibrium. Marketing also involves the feedback and reactions of consumers to a product and the new set of decisions to be made in response to the feedback. So, marketing is a continuous process of satisfying consumers with a product/service. Selling is only giving something in exchange for money.

Marketing is a business strategy is that a business organisation organised a campaign to make their goods and services reach to the awareness of customers while selling is the act of buying and selling of goods and services that is the big differences is that a no.
I quite agree with you that marketing is a business strategy to promote company's sales. Most companies embark on marketing to enjoy more patronage which in turn leads to increase in sales. Banks even engage the service of marketers to market their products and services.

In my own personal opinion, marketing is the process convincing the public or people about the a particular product, telling them the features of the product and why they need buy it, while selling is the process of giving someone products and collect your money.

@Dekat A thin line exist between marketing and Sales department. The primary assignment of the marketing team is to create awareness through the use of various mediums while Sales department takes care of the conversion from a potential customers to customers.

Selling seems to be an offspring to marketing. Marketing is the act of selling a product to anyone with an effective strategy. Strategy like product review, how product works, benefit of the product, cons of the product. All these could catch their interest it could be called marketing funnel. It a step by step of selling a product to hungry buyers.

In basic words, selling changes the products into cash, yet advertising is the strategy for serving and fulfilling client needs. The showcasing interaction incorporates the arranging of an item's and administration's value, advancement and appropriation.

Marketing is the ability of persuading one to patronize goods. Selling takes place after marketing. Marketing improves sales and helps in building customers base. Which is very important in business.

Marketing and selling are different and are not the same.In marketing, the the business or manufacturer devices a means and strategy on how to enlightened a potential client on the features and the important value they could get from a product,Marketing is a delibrate driving force and strategic planning from a mnagement to enlightened clients about a product. But sales is when the a goods or commodity has been exchanged for monetry value, this is actually what we mean by selling.

Marketing is all about customer satisfaction and it involves the processes that lead to selling.
Marketing involves showcasing, promoting, distributing, packaging, pricing and the eventual selling of the products and services. Selling involves the actual exchange of goods and services between buyers and sellers.
I was about saying the same thing. Marketing encompasses the promotion of the item or service through advertising. It involves fixing price and also the actual selling. Selling is actually a segment of Marketing.

Yes dear there is a big difference in selling and marketing, selling is just giving your product to customers by taking money while advertisement and marketing is a the description of qualities and features of products to increase the selling, that ultimately increase the profits.

marketing will make people who did not have an idea of the type of product and services you offer to be aware that you have the ability to offer such services but why is the Earth in which someone comes to your organisation with money to get what he or she wants, exchanging of goods with money

They are both completely different things, marketing is the couple of strategies used to advertise or promote a product on a specific platform, but selling means getting something in back by giving something to someone

What you need to understand with the two terminology is that marketing involves all of the entire activities that has to do with the advertising of products and services. Creating awareness. But selling, directly has to do with actually exchanging product or service for money.

There is a big differences between those two marketing is the process of buying and selling of goods and services a person will come to you with money and you give the person in particular goods or services in return for money while marketing is the act of advertising your products or services.

Marketing includes the advertising, distribution, advertising, pricing and sale of products/services, while selling is part of marketing that involves the actual exchange between both consumer and a seller.
Sale turns products into cash in plain terms, but marketing is the way to fulfill and meet consumer desires.

Broadly, marketing involves promoting, distributing, packaging, pricing and selling of products/services while selling is a part of marketing that involves the actual exchange between a buyer and seller. marketing is mostly large scaled or official.

Marketing is a skill of pursuing your client to buy... It is an instant whereby you are still trying to make them buy... Telling them about the company's integrity and the product integrity but selling is the final stage of marketing... The client has accepted your argument and has give in into buying your said product.
