Is meat shop profitable even when most of the population don't prefer nonvegetarian food.

Here in India, most people like to eat vegetarian food. Many people don't even eat eggs here but we can see lots of meat shops existing in the city. I wonder how they earn. Is it not strange? What can be the reason?

You have not done any market research, right? Your view is based on the assumption that the population is overtly vegetarian yet, there are a lot of meat shops.
