Is it bad to take a break if you're burnt out?

It's true, I understand you, the mind is very treacherous, when you have been resting for more than 10 minutes it will start to repeat that you are wasting your time and that you are not being productive, even when you are sick, sometimes you just need to disconnect for a while from everything.

Seriously, just like when I was sick last week. I couldn't come online anywhere for at least 4 days, my silly mind keep poking me, hey Mr! You're not the only that's sick. You're not working, a lot jobs have been unattended for days. Don't you think you're being lazy? I was like WTF dude! I'm ill for crying out loud. Let me rest 😂.

As the saying goes, our worst enemy is ourselves, I have not had any illness in my life that has made it impossible for me to work for more than 2 days, but I understand perfectly what you are saying, intrusive thoughts do not let you rest, especially if you have a family to support, it will be even worse, but health comes first, If you don't take care of your health, there will be no one to take care of your family.

Exactly! I cannot joke with my health for any reason whatsoever. I have seen some people die like chickens as a result of taking good care of themselves. There was a time when a lady of 56 years who lived in the same yard with us died after 2 days of having headaches. It was later found out that she had Malaria. 2 days and she was dead.

I am someone who is a pain when it comes to needing to take a break but I feel like if I do, I will waste the time I use to take the break.

Sometimes I am my own worst enemy and even though I should really take a break, the workaholic in me wants to keep going instead and it's such a pain sometimes.

Realizing that you are only human and breaks are needed to be able to function is something that I have to get my head around and understand that it is self-care and not me wasting time.

No, it is not. The human mind is given a finite amount of psychological resources each day. Sleeping and taking a break is a good way to recharge those resources so that you may continue working. It's important to make sure that you have enough food and water as well. Take a lesson from top chess players who do physical training and drink water during matches. If you're not physically in good shape, your mental performance will suffer.

Burn out is a sign that your mental resources are not enough to handle the mental and emotional burdens you have taken on. Once you have slept, the idea would be to cut down on some of your tasks and distance yourself from draining and demanding relationships. Put boundaries against behavior that bothers you and that you do not have the resources to handle.

It is not a bad idea to take a break, if you are burnt out because if you don't take a break you may faint or die prematurely, the little break you take may save your life and also help you to recover your energy.

When your body is no longer in the healthy condition to be able to keep on working, I believe that it is something that is going to be beneficial to you to stop working and take a long break in order to afford yourself time to recuperate from the stress it has been put through whenever you are working. This is the only way you can be able to put yourself in a condition of being able to give your best at work.

Don't be afraid to take a break when you need it. Don't push yourself either. You can't expect to get everything done right away, take time, pace yourself. If you do this, your work will go by a lot easier and much better, at least imo.

When you're working for yourself, taking of your break can come at anytime because you don't owe anyone any explanation as to why you need the break that point in time. Take the break whenever your body needs because it's very important for your health to be in check.

How can it bad to take a break from work when you're burnt out? Do you want to break down or die on the job before you take a break? If you're tired, take a break as much as possible if you're doing your own business.

People underestimate the power of breaks. Taking a break is very important as it will help you relax and prepare for the challenges ahead. When you are feeling tired or burned out, I will always advise that the person take a break.

Personally, I can never compromise and sacrifice my break time for anything. I will not even do it for an extra pay because I know the way my body is going to suffer from not resting during the break as I am supposed to, there is no way the money that I got working that time is going to be able to fix the problem such would create for me.

Sometimes it seems to me that if you take a break, then you will be focused on problems all the time and thus they will take much more of our attention. Therefore, sometimes you can try to do everything and not pay attention to it
