How quickly you can memorize the necessary information?

At school, I often had to memorize a poem for literature lessons, but it was not easy for me and I had to spend more than an hour to learn a poem for 10 lines. Over time, my skills have deteriorated even more, so now I definitely wouldn't remember such a thing.
