Once, I settle with a theme during the website creation process, the theme stays for a long time. For example, my personal website uses the same theme since 4 years. I don't change theme quite often. Changing theme can confuse your regular visitors. This is my personal opinion, though. What's your thought on this?

Instead I'll set it manually for my visitors to change the themes own their own.

When I spoke about theme, I was not talking about dark theme or light theme, I was rather talking about the templates as used on the content management systems.

Okay, i got you right. That one will need you to go to customization option if you're using WordPress. Using the app is easier to toggle to the theme section and select your preferred theme. But it isn't be changed all the time, I'll say once in six months.

Changing website themes once in six months can be considered good as your site will get new look which might appeal to the existing visitors.

If you find a theme that is better than your actual theme you will for sure change theme immediatelly however you will not always check template theme page of your hoster may be once a month.

I have never owned a website, not even a free blog. Thus, this question does not apply to me. I came here to see what is actually recommended.

As much as it is good to be dynamic and creative, is is also good to place an accurate measure on the way things are being done. Changing theme of a website shouldn't be more than once in every year. It is not something that should be done more often.

I tend to update my websites appearance from time to time but I don't have a time limit at all. It's usually whenever I get bored with the current design which sometimes can be 6 months, sometimes it can be after a year. If you have a forum though it can be nice to have a selection of small themes that your members can switch between, however you need to be careful about your sites branding and identity as it's important.

I don't really have much time to be changing my blog themes because I feel that it's not that important to be changing my blog themes all the time.

Please note that many people might not always like your new theme. New does not always mean good. I would also suggest website owners to seek the opinion of website viewers regarding this. You can setup a poll and also present themes in polls and ask people to vote for a theme if this is possible. This way you may also get the opinion of website visitors. This is just my idea.

Like I have said you severally I actually do not have a paid website now, but I try as much as possible to maintain my free website from time to time.

I was fortunate that our office was not keen on the theme because I understand that some website owners would be changing the home page design every 6 months and sometimes even after 3 months. Our office website remained stagnant in that department for years. The only changes done is when we move to another hosting provider.

I don't have a specific fixed timing that I implement in the changing of my site themes. But i do know that it doesn't take me up to five years before changing the scenery

The theme on my Amazon affiliate site is the most expensive component of my money site. I honestly cannot afford to change it any time soon. But since it was uniquely designed to fit my need, i like it. My audience seems to like it too.

The kind of website you run also matters alot as well. I think there should be a specific time you change your theme. If you leave a theme for too long, your viewers might become bored of seeing same theme alwsys. If you change it too frequently, it could confuse your viewers as well

Yes, if you do not change your website will have stale look and it might look boring for your regular visitors and subscribers. But if you change frequently, it will also confuse your visitors

I rarely change website theme. If I do change it, it is at a random times not a specific period of time but usually after a very long time though

I don't change my website them that often or frequently s such. It might even take my some couple of years before I might think of changing the themes because I usually like them the way it is

Actually I haven't own a website at all so it will be quite difficult answering this question about website theme changing but if I ever own one I would definitely change it often to attract people.
