How much investment do you need to organize a band of 4 members?

My nephew who owns a drum set has given up music because he said that it is expensive to organize his own band. My idea is for the band members to put up capital. Like a band of 4, the capital is shared by the 4 members so it would not really be expensive at all. What do you think?

Well, credit is one problem. I mean, another solution is loans - but who has credit, and what young adults have it?

Anyway, though, surely the cost of a band wouldn't be that much, but also we have to figure in marketing. In fact, from my experience, I'd say marketing is the most expensive thing.
