Handling conflict at the place of work might not be easy as others arise due to conflict of interest. You finds that at every place of work there are those staffs whos work merits are waiting, they don't perform but when there is promotion they want to be the one to take up the posts, when a junior is promoted due to high performance, they create enemity with the promoted individuals, then there are also (we call them moles within the company) those who incite others then take a back seat and watch the happenings. It's not easy dealing with such characters. They are good at pretending.
You are so right about all these sets of people you have mentioned and we have truck loads of them working in public organizations. The ones most displeasing are the backbiters who cause strife at work and even away from work.

discussion is the best way i think, stay calm and don't provoke emotions because it will make a mess

In my work, the best way to handle conflicts is by calling a meeting with the people involved, clarifying each other's points and reaching an intermission, where the parties feel calmer, accept their errors and virtues individually.

I think the way i think you can deal with conflict is by splitting the job for each and every one to do and also ensuring good communication between the employees , also implementing rules

It takes a great courage to initial peace talk with someone you have grudges with at work place. But the right needed to be done for whoever wants the progress of the business.

A company should have a functioning human resource department that will look into the conflict that happen at the work place.

However, if such department is not found in the company, those who at the helms of affair of the company should look into the matter and resolve the conflicts.

Misunderstanding aming workers as been an issue have also wanted to ask about how to resolve it because two people at my workplace presently are not on good terms with themselves and we have tried all possible means to resolve but they both are not complying but with some tips here I guess I will also try it out and I hope it will resolve it. Thanks.

Really there is need to follow some points like,
  1. Talk with the other person. ...
  2. Focus on behavior and events, not on personalities. ...
  3. Listen carefully. ...
  4. Identify points of agreement and disagreement. ...
  5. Prioritize the areas of conflict. ...
  6. Develop a plan to work on each conflict. ...
  7. Follow through on your plan. ...
  8. Build on your success.

The first steps in handling workplace conflict belong, in most cases, to the employees who are at odds with one another. The employer's role—exercised by managers and HR professionals—is significant, however, and is grounded in the development of a workplace culture designed to prevent conflict among employees to the extent possible. The basis for such a culture is strong employee relations, namely, fairness, trust and mutual respect at all levels. This toolkit offers suggestions to create such an organizational climate and includes methods to deal with employee grievances and conflicts

Point of contact is always point of conflict. So it is normal to have disagreement. As a manager I will intervene to know what caused the fight. But if it persists after my settlement, I will change their offices.

We all know that there are times that issues may arise in the working environment or business between employees or even partners, I would like to know what methods are employed to resolve disputes in the work place and also to ensure that conflicts are minimized.
As we all know that conflict everywhere is inevitable because of differences in human nature and character. To deal with conflict at work place properly, one must understand the basic concept of conflict theory. The first one is lose-win approach which requires you to lose argument and the other person wins to let peace reign.
Other ones are Win-Win and Lose-Lose approach.

In any place where there are two or more people, there is bound to be conflict. So in resolving dispute at workplace, you really have to be diplomatic. You ensure there are modalities in place to see that in the event such disputes occurs there are ways to resolve them.

Being a great job candidate involves more than possessing qualifications and experience. Work often involves interacting with many stakeholders of differing opinions, so hiring managers often aim to know how you may approach conflict in the workplace. It is common for interviewers to ask questions that address your interpersonal skills and how your emotional intelligence might guide you in times of conflict. Your response will provide insight into your personality and will also indicate how likely you are to function well within a team.

How to resolve conflicts in the workplace

It's best to start out investing in mutual funds or exchange-trade funds rather than individual stocks and bonds until you get your feet wet. These types of funds enable you to invest in a broad portfolio of stocks and bonds in one transaction rather than trading them all yourself.

The best way I think you can deal with conflicts in your business location is to try a dialogue way of settling the issues and matters that caused the cconflicts on both parties involves and making sure they resolve and settle their differences because a happy environment promotes good business.

Dealing with conflicts at workplace is not as difficult as people make it seem, the arbitrator must be seen to be impartial so that whatever judgement or decision that he makes would be acceptable to all warring parties.

I strongly believe that in any business place or were people come together for a purpose their must be a disagreement either on how to attain their purpose or stress in their work or failure of others to participate in attaining the goal so for that their should be division of labour among employees in a place of work.
