Ouch, that is very similar to what I know. A nephew and his wife were hired to work in a gas station owned by my nephew's father and step-mother. After a month the father found out that his son and wife were stealing the products in the auto supply store of the gas station. When the father talked to me I advised him to terminate his son and daughter-in-law. Stealing is a big sin that should not be tolerated. In fact, that nephew had also stolen something from me when he stayed in our home as the housekeeper while my wife and I were on a short vacation. Trust is really the most important when it comes to business.

It is important that in business, you put business first, so you should inform co workers about it and also move that family member from a position that enables the act

Hello, if you don't take it out, you will go bankrupt, talk about it and get them to reach an agreement where he voluntarily resigns and try to make sure that event does not get worse.

Then you’re derailing from business principle which state that you shouldn’t attach familiarity to your business. As an inlaw he’s also your staff and he’s breached the supposed terms and conditions meant for all staffs. He should bear the consequence too. Sack and arrest him

Limit his visit to the shop, If you see something he stole, comment on it by saying you used to have the exact same thing but it went missing. They won't confess, but it lets them know you're onto them.
When he comes to visit, keep an eye on them and don't keep anything personal in the main bathroom.
Instead of entertaining him at your house, plan something away from the house, such as a picnic in the park or go to a mall or a movie. Find free things to do in your community instead of ending up having to foot the bill for whatever reason.

Most in-laws due play around with their job simply because of the relationship, so I advice you make a strong law to keep them focus on the business

The in-law have to understand that he/she's is an employee like any other and risk being fired in case of malpractice. Give the first warning, second warning. The third time he's now a fool. You got to fire him

You better call the attention of those who would label you as a bad person if you lay him off to speak with him and if he does not refrain, just fire him before he destroys your business.

This is a very difficult situation but not withstanding, you can call is a atention and talk to him about it..or call the attention of other family members to talk with him and make sure to have an evidence before you can accuse him before them

Have a heart to heart discussion with him first , if he fails to change , report it to your wife , and limit his access to fund .

The best thing you can do, is to get rid of him, because he doesn't fit in to work for you. Their is no family, or blood relation, inlaws in business. If you truly want to be successful in your business career, that means you need to employ some strict measures that will keep your business working fine. And everyone working for you need to adhere to, and get the best of result in your business endeavour.

One have to be calm with them.

Very calm inorder to let the work go perfectly and there must be principles for all

For business to survive you have to remove family influence from it. Let your inlaw no that no one is above the law and the business is bigger than any individual. Set laid down rules and regulations so that anyone who errs is going to face the music.

Let me tell you that you should mix family with business. Anything that will dawn your business you should try to prevent it. If you catch your in-law steal, worn him as first time but if he repeat the same act, you should sharck him but before that let family know the issue.

I want you to realize that there is no family relationship in a business world. He works for you, hence he must abide by the rules and regulations of your business Anything less should not be tolerated at all. I demand if he steals, that he should be punished because such attitude will only rip your business apart if not solved. If he continues, talk with him and observe him change, if he still refuses then he must leave your work alone

In a situation like this, proves the reason why business and family does not mix as it results to issues like this.
If I were in a situation like this one, I will make sure that inlaw leaves my company by tempting him with another better opportunity at another company.

This is why business and family must always stay separate. You can always sack a misbehaving employee but when the employee is family that is when sentiments will come into the mix and it will cost you your business.

My brother what are you waiting for, have been in that position and at last the company crashed finally but as long as ur organization still on is better you sack him before he makes u lose your life by making you thinking till you lose everything so the earlier the better so you really need to act fast and I can never get any in-law or family into my business stuffs again because they are the one killing business

In business, honesty and transparency are very important at all times. If there is a robbery of an employee, you must expel him without hesitation. He who does it once, he will continue to do it unless he learns a lesson. If you don't want to fire him, you should put him somewhere that he can't steal, after talking to him and explaining the reasons openly.
