High CPU usage

This site eats CPU like no tomorrow. I close the tab and the cooler winds down. i7 11700F.

It’s all the animations. I switched theme back to the 2.0 theme to dial it back and save battery life on my iPad.

Which means it's almost certainly taking an entire CPU core to do that. (Modern CPUs have 4+ cores, seeing a CPU usage be at 25% usually means something's occupying a single core pretty good. My laptop has 8 cores, so when I see things around the 13-16% mark I usually know that's eating an entire core.)

Better test: look at the site on your phone, see how quickly battery goes down. Bonus points if it makes your device actively warmer.

Can’t say I’ve had issues that made me notice faster battery drainage, warmth or over CPU use. But I haven’t compared it to a simpler theme too.

I can't say since I found that the site runs fast anyway and has no delays, in fact, I can have ten AJ tabs open on my laptop and my CPU goes to 50% - I'm on I5 5200 as that's my laptop. Plus On Chrome that east even more anyway hahahahaha

Frankly I let very few scripts/animations run in the first place so I don't notice, however the level of CPU usage reported here is abnormal and its causes should be dialed back substantially. If the OP reports this with an I7 and someone else reports what's basically a core being gobbled up then think of the potatoes...

Well if we need to revert the theme back to our 2.0 as the default, that is no problem. let me know if there are more issues.

Edit: I’ll run some tests and see of there’s a few things to be disabled for the UIX.

Which theme are you using? It was only the 3.0 theme that had a high CPU issue with all the animations and effects it had.

Admin Junkies 3.0. I do have the "Header area animation" toggled off, so that could also be a factor.

Yup, Firefox definitely has issues with it:

I’m not having *errors* with the 3.0 theme, I never said I had *errors*, neither did the OP - we said that the CPU fan goes brrrrrrr because the theme makes the CPU work harder.

If I remember correctly.... I reported this the day the new theme went live...

I can confirm that I see a spike in CPU usage with the new theme. I am on a Ryzen 5 2600
