Forest bathing originated in Japan, which involves immersing oneself in nature, typically in a forested area. In Japan it is called Shinrin-yoku. There have been some studies on forest bathing and the results have shown that spending time in nature can lower cortisol levels, reduce stress, and improve mood and cognitive function.

This sounds amazing!

One thing that I've learned to appreciate as I've become older is enjoying nature - I have a beautiful view out of the back of my house with floor to ceiling windows, and my house incorporates a lot of greenery and plants. Surrounding myself with the natural world helps keep me centered.
