Was there ever a time where you witnessed a serious crime committed in front or near you? I haven't seen any crimes, at least serious ones committed before my very eyes. I've seen troublemakers doing dumb stuff, but nothing to the point where I had to call the police to come help. But have you ever encountered such a situation where you needed to call authorities?

What ran through your mind in this situation?

I've never witnessed any crime being committed in my presence. It doesn't matter if it's a small or big crime, I've not been unfortunate to witness it and I'm happy about that. It's only in movies and TV shows I've watched crime being committed. Money Heist is my favourite.

I witnessed a bank-robber go down in my neighborhood about 5 years ago. It was one of the most craziest robbery scene that I have ever witnessed in my life. I used to see it in movies but I never thought I would be able to witness it firsthand. The robbery was so devastated that about three policemen were shot dead in the bank premises.

Fortunately, I have never witnessed a serious crime being committed in front of me. However, if I ever did, I would immediately contact the authorities and do everything I could to help bring the perpetrator to justice.

I saw a drunk driver hit someone. Thankfully the man was okay but it made me sick to my stomach to witness it. The drink driver was some younger woman, maybe 25 to 30 years of age and she had her young child (could not have been over 3 years of age) in the back seat.

Drinking and driving is very wrong and I believe it is against traffic rules. Anyone who is drunk and ends up driving, will most likely be involved in one accident or another and it generally going to affect whom they run over because they will be speeding without any kind of control to know what's really going on.

I am not gonna be there to watch such a scene. I mean, it is going to be a scary man being at the place where the robbery is going on. How am I going to be closer watching? I have not seen a robbery scene and wouldn't want to be close to such a scene.

Unfortunately, I was in the bank when it all went down. There's no way of avoiding being there. I was with my face in the ground all through the whole robbery was done and the criminals left the bank before they were being engaged by the cops and military. They all still got away.

I once witnessed a case of jungle justice as a 13 year old. We were told the lynched dude tried kidnapping a grown man using voodoo. The guy was caught, stripped naked and beaten to a pulp. I got there just in time to see him been set on fire. I watched as he burnt to his death. I still see it clearly like it happened yesterday.

Jungle justice is a very common act in my country. There are popular markets in some states here where if they catch you stealing, your death is very certain because they will burn the person alive. The cops wouldn't be able to stop them from doing that.

Despite the campaigns and protests against it, it just never ends. In a society where those saddled with the responsibility of upholding the laws are the ones breaking it, citizens will take laws into their hands. That doesn't make it right, but it gives them a momentary feel of justice, something they'll never get from the police.

It is simply because the justice system have been corrupt and it's very difficult for a common man to get justice going to the police. This is the reason why some people have decided to be taking the laws into their hands by practicing jungle justice which is completely against the law. But when the law is no longer functioning for the people, what are they supposed to do?

It's not a good scene to witness because it might involve the person in one way or another. I've seen where after a robbery went took place, during investigation, the cops arrests those who were there for questioning.

I haven't seen any crime in front of me honestly, I've heard shootings and others, but I've never seen how they kill anyone in front of me or similar, I think it would be something quite traumatic, I hope I never see it

Pocket picking is a crime though. I've witnessed it a couple of times in the bus station, malls and anywhere which is crowded with people. Some of the pocket pickers are caught after being chased while the lucky ones slip away.

Yes, I've witnessed that too, and even how businesses rob at knifepoint, but when I saw the title of the thread, I related it directly to murders, hit-and-runs, or other crimes, but robberies I've witnessed a few.

Businesses being rob at knifepoint is the same thing as being robbed with guns. If the business owner makes any sudden moves, the robber will stab him to death. It just takes one stab in the neck region, it's going to be RIP for the business owner. They are all dangerous and serious crime.

Whenever I am entering public transport, I always hold my smartphone in my hand and my wallet in my hand as well. This is to prevent losing my awareness and somebody will pick my pocket. I have actually lost my wallet in a public transport ones as a result of pick pockets and I'm now I'm very careful about the way I go about using public transport.

I saw a motorist in front of me at the pedestrian crossing specially hit the pedestrian in front of me because he had a red light and the pedestrian had a green light, I just noticed that he was badly injured, but I don't know if he died
