A few years back I ran a small forum. I didn't keep much of an eye on it. For about 3 days I didn't bother checking the site out, and when I did check it over, I saw someone had gotten in and deleted all of the forum topics/posts and topic areas. He replaced the background with an image of "YOU'VE BEEN HACKED" and that was it. I had a backup and fixed things, but it was a pain to deal with. I sold the forum off soon after.

Jeez!!! That's must have been a lot of stress when you noticed that it had been hacked. Assuming you stayed on it, you might have been able to sweet that someone is trying to hack your forum and would have counter it on the spot.
Quote of today*
Did you know the greatest instrument to fight the worries of life is patience. Things might look rough but be patient, better days are coming

I don't have a site, therefore, I do not have this experience. However, I know if I have a site, my site is prone to hacking. However, I believe a site that deal with financial transactions are prone to hacking compared to a simple blog.

Yes, three years back, i was hosting my site on a shared platform. This was a big mistake, because it costed me alot. It was easily hacked and costed me more $$. I switched to VPS immediately.

I'm a content creator but my blog haven't been hacked before just because I use security system to secure my url so it will be very hard for any hacker now to say he wants to come and hack my platform. That is not even possible because it will be hard for the person to do

I heard about this from people but it has never happened to my blog. An expert told me to install wordfence plugging on my website in order to prevent hacker from gaining access to the website

Most hacker hack small site for bragging right and to test their hacking skill, it brings a lot of pain when one is hacked, and setting up a site from scratch is a no no for me, I pray never to experience that

It takes a tech guru to he able to retrieve a site back from hackers. These hackers are so cunning in their ways that you might end up losing the site entirely to them.

I have never experienced my site been harcked or penetrated on before. I guess I will have to become more concious about the safety of my site from now on

Thankfully, my websites have never been hacked. I have lost the count of how many websites I have built but these days I own 15 websites and six of them are earning profits from adsense

I have had issues before with hacking on my social media page I was notified and I quickly made the necessary changes. But I haven't dealt with a website hacking before.

Yes I have and it was so bad, because I was not able to access the site and it was also annoying knowing another person is making use of your site

I cannot seem to recall if a website I worked on has been hacked before, I don't think so but I remember a forex company that got hacked with my money still in it, it was painful.

I have never experienced this before. My site has never been hacked. One should always make sure that their sites security is always alert to bring such intrusion to their knowledge

I dont even have a website cos i dont really know about how to go about it but i have had so people complain about their website being hacked and it can be frustrating

I don't have a website for now but my cousin brother has numerous website and he has narrated a scenario whereby his website was hacked but he later got control over the website and did wiping of the old websites so that those people cannot be able to hack it again.

That's very awful by the criminal who intrude into the website reshaped the website, deleted all the well created contents of the webmaster, that took him hard work to create.

Though I am still trying to create my own personal websites but for now I have heard of hackers stealing people websites and hacking it to the core, replacing every thing with his own personal information.

The only one that I experienced back then is when my Facebook account was hacked,I really don't know what to do till date all I could do is just to open another one and let go of the old hacked one. So I moved on.
