Giving importance to human resources in every business

Human resources are very important for every business. Human resources form an integral part on every aspect of business activities. You are going to experience exponential growth in your business if you are blessed with quality human resources.

I agree with this, but what exactly is human resources? I know for a fact that humans can be considered as part of the resources the manager needs to manage within the company.
