Forum vs Blog

And most of us are working on both. I used to work on a friend's blog before it all went awry. I wrote sports articles, politics, and many more. Since then, it has been difficult to create or work for one.

Yeah, that is a very good feature to add in a forum. When a forum has a blog section in it, it truly brings more traffic to the site due to the Search Engine optimization.
That's a wonderful feature to add in a forum, it improves the search result and makes those contents to boost the forum's overall search engine ranking.

I use to live a blog because of the versatility but recently I started losing interest and eventually developed interest in forums, so I have plans of starting my own forum soon if I can get the resources needed for it.

Running a forum can be very expensive. You not only need to pay for the forum software but also pay the members to build content. You can use a free software, but may not be able to build content without paying members. I have a forum, I pay members but still cannot build huge community.

I think both of them are very good in making money but it actually depending and a person the kind of work you really want to do there.

For managing a forum, it is more of the contributions of the visitors that helps make the forum more lively than simply the contributions if the owner. But not so for blogs. The contributions of the owner will go a long way in making it worthwhile or a crap

In my way of view the biggest difference in blogs and forum is that a block only the author is allowed to write articles but involves all users can read articles and share ideas that is the only big difference between the two of them you can decide on which one to start

I'll go for blog. All I need is to be consistent in dedicating quality time and good content so I can gain high traffic and maximize profit.

What you mentioned is just the basic difference between the two, however these days a forum can also be a blog. Not only users are allowed to generate contents on forums.

I think as a user I would prefer using forums that way I can have a say and all that but as an owner I'd go for blog, control the content and everything

I prefer forums because you can interact with users by asking the questions you want or answering someone, so that's worth better a blog which is only published by the owner.

Even if I may decide to engage in blogging I rather choose one because I may not really be able to constantly check what people are doing most especially as a moderator in online communities. And generally I believe that forum is even more difficult to manage than blog

I have been posting on forums for a while and I have managed to earn around $30-$40 per month by posting on forums, can I earn this kind of amount if I am running a blog, definitely not.

This is not usually true. Because for example if I need that only moderators and staff and administration could create content and new articles this is possible by a forum and allow to users to comment and this is common in many forums where you can only reply to topics created by staff.

Personally I'm more in favour of a forum because it engages the members that on it more than what a Blog does in my opinion, ever since I've been using forums to meet up and discuss content with people.

Simple answer Forum is User Generated Content & Blog is Author Generated Content. Hope this helped. Thanks
That's it. You can get a good earnings on a forum without much stress. But for a blog, you can get a meaningful amount of money from it,but it needs lots of your time.

It is pretty much easier to manage blog than forum. You only route to put up content on the like regularly online forum which you need to moderate each of every comment made by the members.

I don't know if you are asking for the one to go for. If so, I think you are the onlt one to decide. This is because I believe that there are things that are better when it run in forums while others are better when they are run in blogs. It is just my opinion though.

In blogging, the owner has complete control over when and how he posts, as well as the users' comments. Other forum users can also participate in the writing.
