Let's say you start a forum.

In your forum rules, you state that "political discussions are now allowed" because they often lead to unpleasant debates.

Your forum has no relation to politics!

As your forum grows, members start to have little political discussions. You have to keep asking them to stop. But the discussions never turn into toxic debates.

At some point, your members ask you to change the rules and allow respectful political discussions.

What do you do?

Keep firm on your rules against it or change your rules for the members requesting it?
