Flarum

I've seen a few boards run on Flarum. It is a very exciting new software with a lot of potential. It's still in beta so I am looking forward to seeing a stable release, before I consider using it in the future.

First time I'm hearing of it, looks a bit interesting and I'll keep my eye on it as I've never joined a forum using it. Hopefully it turns out to be as good as Xenforo.

It's a free forum software so you can only expect so much.

ah, then its competition for mybb then, which if this software offers even a tiny amount of support, they are ten times better than mybb.

This is the first time that i am hearing of flarum. Is this a sort of forum or is this a sort of topic creation style that is utilized on a forum by any chance?

I never seen any forum but as from official information it looks cool for me as it claimed that it is "designed to be minimal forum software with high extensibility. Most common features in other forum software are extensions to Flarum's core software, such as locking threads, private messaging, flagging posts, and assigning tags (categories) to discussions." So looks decent for me.

Locking a thread can be a good feature that can be implemented. There was one forum that i used in the past whereby if you post a question as a topic and it has been answered then it is locked to prevent further spam.

I am not a fan of free hosted forums, so I have never used flarum. I don't think I have ever been a member on communities built with flarum, therefore, I cannot say anything about it. For those who have used it, how do you compare the platform with proboards.
