Fake members?

You have heard about when first starting a forum you should make fake accounts and post as those members to help make the forum look active and give your forum more posts/topics and content. What are your thoughts on this? Personally I find this to be cheap and people can eventually find out what your doing. You can also get burned out fast by doing this. There's no way I would ever do this.
I think that this is a very bad idea and in my opinion i think that it is much better to just pay real people in order to post on the forum instead.

It's reasonably-priced to be sincere and boards that does this maximum of the time will probable now no longer even develop that big. The largest threat is also that a person will discover and might not go to your discussion board once more as they'll now no longer recognize whether or not they may be speakme to exclusive human beings or simply the identical person

Well it sounds bad but it can work at some point many people actually do that

Although it might work in the short term, this is unquestionably not a long-term strategy for boosting activity.
I would advise against it.
Never have I done it.
Instead than spending their time posting under false identities, webmasters should concentrate on promoting.

Fake accounts will give the other users an impression that, your forum is active. However, you will be the one to suffer at the end. Let's just say if you can't be online for a few days, then all that hard-work would be for nothing.

The same goes to people you hire as well. As they post only for money and nothing more, you can't count on them unless you have a monthly deal with them. I used to hire someone every month but later gave up on that idea as his posts were of really low quality. I did give him a raise and still that didn't change anything with respect to the quality and I had to ask him to leave.

Well, it's better to post genuine content with your original account and even if you are the top poster, who would dare say anything to you?

It's your forum and you want to talk to others about what you like and that's all there is to it.

When I start a forum, I create fake accounts and create some topics. I fuind it better to create posts on fake names instead of admin creating all posts on a new forums. However, once I start getting real members, these fake accounts will remain inactive
