 Creating fake members

For topics related to engaging users and creating community interaction.
I don't recall ever doing this on any forum, personally. I've seen some forums do it and you can tell they are fake or 'sock' accounts. It doesn't usually work too well tbh.
Exactly. It’s always better to just seed your forum by doing post exchanges and if you can afford it, hire a couple of writers. Eventually your forum will take off. Using post exchanges and extra writers I think help the best.

Also, getting your friends or family members on board to post on your forum can help as well.

This is my favorite way to start my forum. I create a couple of fake accounts and create topics and posts form these fake accounts. Once, I start getting genuine users, these accounts will go dormant. I do not use fake accounts for creating active users, I use just to create the initial activities on the forum.
Everybody has their own methods of starting their forum and getting it off the ground. Community building is a process and it takes time. How many fake accounts do you generally use to get your forum off the ground? 2-3?

I suppose authentically 'roleplayed' fake accounts can come off more genuine than content bundles. Actual people already interested in the niche (ie networking) is miles ahead either way.
