Has there ever been a time where a hacker hijacked your site? Maybe they tried to get money out of you in order to let it go. I've thankfully never dealt with hackers like that, but I know people who have. Sometimes they would outright delete the site/forum. All posts, content, etc. A forum I used to be a member of, was hacked a few times, to the point where the hackers altered everything on the site.

Has this sort of thing happened to you?

Okay what's the time in which some setting information from my company were stolen. It was a Ransome ware attack. This is why it is important that you should always have double back up.

They have not hacked any of the website I owned or managed before. But, they have hacked social media account in the past. I was logout that day. And the hacker started deleting my post and pictures. I later go the account back through my brother who is computer scientist.

Personally I dont own a site but I believe there absolutely nothing that can be done when your site is being hijacked by someone. You can locate them and no one to lay complaint to.

I don't own any sites at the moment, so I haven't faced such a situation. It's really a horrible and painful experience, even imagining it. That's why a back-up of everything is really important to save you from losing your online data.

Well, even I have never actually actively promoted my site, despite creating a website. I made a website, but I soon realised that it will take a considerable amount of time to promote my website. So, my site never got hacked because no one knew about it in the first place.

No never and I'm lucky for that but I've seen many people lose money just because of this and that's why people always ask us to have up to date version of plugin is vital to avoid any loophole.

Thankfully, no. I am very strict with online security and protection. At most, I have faced one DDos attack which was minor and only lasted maybe 30 minutes.

luckily for me, i have never dealt with site hackers before, but a friend of mine has, and it was a very nasty experience for him, because after wasting so much energy, time and resources, he lost almost everything.

I encountered a hacker who hacked my Facebook handle , lucky the hacker is not an expert who supercede my digital knowledge. I try the possible ways I to retrieve my account and I succeeded. I ended up dealing with him by reporting his mail ID he use to hack my account

@Alisco - I have never dealt with such kind of problem ever, but I think that when it comes to protecting your websites, many big websites also face the issue of getting hacked. It is a very common issue.

Definitely,I stress out that I was lucky enough that my account was hacked by a novice hacker that I was able to retrieve back the account.Had it been that it was hacked by professional omooo ,it's gone forever

It is very important to keep a back up or 2 Factor authentication system active when you tend to use exchanges or payment processors all the time in order to secure your funds.

Well, when was the recruitment information stolen from my company? It was a ransomware attack. For this reason, it is important to always have dual backups.

I think it's impossible for you to deal with issues of hackers when the account has been hijacked. that's one of the difficulties that alot of people had to faces with online stuffs.

I have never had a site of my own before as I'm not really into online stuffs but I've also had many encounters with hackers. Many of my social media accounts have been hacked so many times

My website has never been hacked because nobody was aware of it to begin with. I created a
site courtesy WordPress but I quickly realized that it would take a lot of effort to advertise it so I have not aggressively pushed it

hope you have the necessary security put in place, because when some of this hackers sees that your site has prospect, they would definitely attack and that is after you must have invested a lot into it.
