They serves as major encouragement to staffs of a company, and this in turn will boost the sales and income of the company. There are some filling stations in my environment here that don't even pay their employees based on salary but instead they are paid based in allowances and thus employees do work with all their strength so they can make big sales and get big allowance.

And in most cases, that might just be what would make them remain, they might see other companies that are willing to pay better than their current job. But what would make them remain is the. Benefits they are getting such as vacations, bonuses, outings and the likes.
 
There are organizations that gives their employees benefits such as additional bonuses to salaries paid, paid vacations abroad, health insurance, Retirement plans. These benefits produces a productive workforce and help boost workers morale but at the same time cost most Employers a lot and increase their financial statement making them require a lot from employees in return.

I don't think there are any 'cons' attached to employee benefits.
It is very important as it goes a long way to motivate employees.
The zeal to want to keep serving is fostered.
As an employer, you don't to go beyond your resources, but a little bonus now and then will help your employees stick around.
 
Benefit is one of the ways of enticing your workers in the workplace. this should not be done regularly so that it will not lose its value. And make sure you reward the hard-working ones.
 
To me this are all done for the betterment of working atmospheric conditions and to also encourage the workers to perform their duties effectively and as it is expected. this serves as an or a form of encouragement and also assistance to.the workers.

I've noticed the trend and I applaud reward for hard-working individuals,the pros is that it motivates other employees to work harder the cons is that it creates an unnecessary toxic environment within the work place
